The maintenance you remember at the worst possible moment

A crane goes down the morning a barge needs to load. A generator quits the week a crew is mobilizing offshore. A compressor throws a fault right when a turnaround is already behind schedule.

This is not bad luck. This is what happens when maintenance lives in a technician's head, a paper logbook, or a whiteboard that gets erased every Friday.

Most industrial operations do not have a maintenance visibility problem. They have a maintenance memory problem. The knowledge exists. Someone knows that pump needs service every 1,200 hours. Someone knows that vessel's bottom paint is overdue. The problem is that "someone" is not a system. It is a person. And people are busy, distracted, and occasionally on vacation when the equipment decides to quit.
